Campaign Story

Hello! I’m Shyanne and I’m married to my husband Timothy. We have been battling infertility for nearly 5 years now after our miscarriage at 12 weeks. This fundraiser is in hopes that Timothy and I can fund our fertility treatments. We have gone through nearly 5 years of blood work, tests, procedures, medications, shots, ultrasounds, etc. This journey has become extremely costly and challenging. We were quoted upwards of $30,000-$40,000 for IVF; though we hope it won’t have to get to that point. Infertility is becoming more prevalent and VERY real. Having children and having a family should NOT be this difficult. If infertility taught me anything, it taught me what it is to be bittersweet. Standing still while the world passes you by; announcement after announcement. Baby shower after baby shower. We’re sad we are forced to overcome these obstacles that are only given to us select few. We’re sad we have to go bankrupt to have a family; no matter what route we choose (IVF, adoption, surrogacy, etc). 1 in 6 people experience infertility. That could be a sister, cousin, wife, friend, coworker. It could be a husband, brother, uncle, etc. Speak up against the unjust and unfair medical system. Speak up for that ONE in 6.
This post is to bring awareness to something that is unfortunately becoming more prevalent, and this post is nothing more than myself striving for a change in the medical system/industry.
Out of six people, check in on that ONE. check in on that cousin, sister, coworker.
Infertility is—and I say this wholeheartedly— a bitch.
A change needs to be made. We’re suffering in silence. Please consider this.
